After our trip to Pattaya with Queenie’s dad, we decided to head for Phuket, with its beautiful beaches and islands.
We took a plane in Bangkok and stayed in the western part of the island i Kamala !
Once on the island, it is rather difficult to move for cheap. Shuttles from the airport are available, but cost around 1400 THB. Phuket town is obviously easily reachable, but it is rather different for all other beaches. Blue songhtaews (40 THB/pp) ensure a link from Phuket to each town in a few hours, but do not connect beaches between each other. The only way is to use redbus, but they ask 400 THB one way…
From the airport, we took a bus heading to Patong (150 THB/pp) and then a taxi from Patong to Kamala.
The cheapest way to move (but takes time!) would be to go first to Phuket town by bus and then transferring to blue songhtaews to your own beach.
